Blog Reflection - WEEK TEN

This week me and Hardeep put together our first draft. We put in all of the parts where the artist was performing and when we watched it over we didn’t like what it looked like so decided to change our mind and go back to my idea that I had when I done my pitch and have a different artist to the actual girl playing the part. This was agreed with the girl that we asked and this will be filmed on the green screen next week.
Also this week we went around our class and looked at everyone’s work and gave them feedback. We received feedback ourself as shown on the previous post, where we got told what improvements we should make and what people think we should definitely keep as they really liked what we done which was good. We were happy to see that people enjoyed it and agreed with the things we had done. It was good to see that they noticed the storyline so all there is to do now is perfect it and make the changes and add the new performance.
Some changes that people thought we should make was having some parts of the video black and white as it will make it more visually appealing. This is something we will take on board as we agree with this too. They also said that there should be a contrast between the way the boy treated the old girl and how he treats the new girl to show that he has actually made the wrong decision. We are thinking about this as we think it's a good point but we are thinking of a good way to do this. People said they especially liked our montage as they thought it had a lot of meaning in such as short space of time and thought it was visually entertaining and different.

Because of the changes that we are making we will also be doing another photo shoot as we the artist has now changed and will need to have her on the ancillary products, magazine advert and digipak.

Blog Reflection - WEEK NINE

This week me and my partner done a photo shoot, to have a selection of images for our magazine advert and digipack. We used the same outfit that we drew and attempted to take pictures the same way they were drawn so it was accurate. I was the model for this as I am the artist in the video too. The aim in this photoshoot was for me to look like a sophisticated role model. In the survey monkey questionnaire that we done, we found that people wanted the artist to be trendy, so I had a midi dress on and a statement necklace, because that is what is in fashion at the moment. The pictures that we took were made to show the artist as powerful, which was done through the way the head was positioned. For example in some my head is tilted back and looking down at the photo which shows a sense of power, showing that whoever is going to see this is weaker than her. This is good for the female audience as they will see that women can be stronger than women, just by the way they look at something. This is another way of making her a good role model, because a lot of the time women in pictures look up at the camera through their eyelashes, which is seen as flirty and weak. Overall this was a successful photo shoot and we are now able to cut and edit these pictures on to our digipack and magazine advert.

WEEK EIGHT - Blog Reflection

This week was mine and Hardeep's first week of filming. This was done at Joe's house, where we done bedroom, dining room and kitchen scenes. These were fun to do and also interesting as we got different angles and experimented a lot with the shots that we done. These were the happy scenes, which were quite easy to film as the shots are mostly static. We found that it was difficult to film as the house was so bright and the sun was shining through, so we had to adjust the curtains and keep moving the camera about in order the picture to come out clear. This had to be tampered with a lot before we were able to film, however we did get the hang of it and got a lot of footage from it. We only concentrated on these scenes this week as we thought as it was the first week, we would just see how it went and thought we'd get them out of the way as they were the easiest ones to do and now we can concentrate on all of the other scenes.
However, we know that it is going to be difficult when it comes to the fighting scenes as we discussed what we might do in these scenes at the house as we will be using some the same rooms, so we need to figure out how to use our space wisely and because we have already been there, we are now more aware of the space we can use and the way we will be able to shoot them in order for them to actually be successful.
